What is Takoyaki?

🍡 Takoyaki, a cherished street food from Osaka, is one of Japanese most iconic culinary traditions.
🎉 Loved at festivals, food stalls, and home gatherings, it has now gained fans around the world.
😋 More than just a delicious treat, takoyaki is about sharing joy, laughter, and creating memorable moments together.

Curious about takoyaki?

Imagine a golden, crispy ball with a soft, gooey center filled with tender octopus. Topped with savory sauce, creamy mayo, bonito flakes, and seaweed, each bite is a burst of flavor and fun.

It’s more than just a snack — it’s a piece of Japanese street culture, made to be shared and enjoyed together.

I wish I could enjoy authentic takoyaki in Vancouver.

This simple wish from a Japanese exchange student sparked the beginning of Takoyaki Poppin’. 

We don’t just serve food. We would love  to offer a fun, flavor-filled experience. Where people can drop by casually, have a great time with friends, and feel the energy pop — just like our name, Takoyaki Poppin’.

And one day, we hope to see the people of Vancouver fall in love with takoyaki.
